Walking in the South West of France

The South West Vendee is a place of natural beauty and colour.
Much of the land has been reclaimed from the sea over the last
                   700 years
and is therefore quite flat and perfect for walking / rambling.
The French are keen walkers and often stroll after their evening
                   meal.

Locally  and up to approx 10 - 15 miles away are some 22 circular
walks around the towns and countryside  from 3.5km - 18km
These range from a gentle stroll around a village and footpaths to a
real ramblers hike using footpaths and taking in fields and canals.

.                 In each of our cottages are tourists brochures indicating the routes,

the kind of terrain  (i.e fields, estuarys, woods etc)

and what you  should expect  to see in that area,
                  birds, animals and historic buildings..
